Cutlery Museum in Thiers

The museum traces the social and economic history of cutlery in Thiers from its beginnings as a craft industry to the start of its industrialization. It honors these workers with their many skills, who worked in particularly difficult conditions. The birth of the guild, the specificities of its organization into "ranks," and the quality of its production contributed to the worldwide renown of Thiers cutlery.
You can continue your discovery of cutlery along the trails of the Rouets Valley, along the Durolle River (guided tour of the last blade grinding mill, with machines in operation).
