LOIRE ATLANTIQUE (44) – Site que l’on peut arpenter : lieu touristique, où il fait bon se promener. Un sentier de balade fait le tour de l’étang et permet de découvrir la faune et la flore et de nombreux sentiers de randonnées passent sur le site.
Former industrial site from the second half of the 16thcentury century, the Hunaudière forge produced cast iron from local ore in a blast furnace, which was then transformed into iron in the refinery and shaped in the forge. The iron bars produced in this way were then transformed into rods in the rod mill, then into nails in the nail factory. Its metallurgical activity ceased in 1883.
The monument was listed as a historic monument in 1986, classified and registered in 1987.
