The Twin Mills of Terrier Marteau

Both mills operated for a century, producing flour. The industrial era changed the situation with the advent of mechanical flour mills. The Terrier Marteau mills no longer operated as much, if at all. They could have fallen into ruin like many other mills if the Fleury-Michon company had not purchased them in the 1970s. An enthusiast was then tasked with getting them up and running again. After a difficult period, particularly when the sails broke in 2016, the mills are now turning once more thanks to the investment and motivation of volunteers from the association "Les Amis des Moulins jumeaux du Terrier Marteau" (Friends of the Twin Mills of Terrier Marteau).
To be seen from the outside:  Their location on the hills of Pouzauges offersexceptional views of the surrounding area.
