Water mills – Vassieux and its heritage

Clearly, the memory of these mills had been completely forgotten. But the oldest inhabitants of the village remembered that the building that housed the large mill had been used as a slaughterhouse until the war, that the reservoir that supplied water to the mills had remained full until the land consolidation, and that women used to wash their clothes in the wash house at "the big fountain."

Rediscovered by the Vassieux et son patrimoine association, the site has been redeveloped.

You will find information panels and you can see the wash house, the waterwheel, the canal, the ruins of the mills, and the millers' vegetable garden.

Self-guided tour, open daily
