HERAULT (34) – Au hameau de Roueïre, sur la commune de Quarante, l’éolienne Bollée, du nom de son illustre inventeur Auguste Bollée , construite en 1898, servait à alimenter en eau le domaine de Roueïre et notamment son château aux allures de vieux manoir anglais. Inscrite à l’inventaire supplémentaire des monuments historiques depuis 1987, cette machine d’une hauteur de 23 mètres était capable de modifier son orientation de manière autonome en fonction du vent. L’éolienne ne fonctionne plus depuis 1972.

Then follow the RD39 towards Capestang,
Enter Capestang along the Canal du Midi,
Then take the D37 towards Quarante for 4.6 km.
Turn right onto Roueïre.
