Cuq Mill

In Brulhois, everyone knows the Cuq mill. It is a landmark, standing 164 meters tall, and is almost the highest point in this village of nearly 300 inhabitants. Of course, the two towers of Golfech have somewhat changed the landscape to the south of the mill. This mill, which is thought to have been built in the 1700s, belonged to the Château de Cuq. It was sold and repurchased several times, with the last known owner being Victor, Henry, Marcel Routier. Already abandoned and overgrown with brambles in June 1968, it was then destroyed by fire. It remained abandoned until the municipality bought it in April 1992 and began to restore it.

 From Saturday, May 17 to Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On European Mills Day, we invite you to discover our mill in operation. You will have the opportunity to take a guided tour and watch flour being produced from ancient wheat, with demonstrations of milling and sifting. In addition, we will provide you with flour from the mill so that you can take home a little of our expertise.
To enhance your visit, drinks and refreshments will be available on site.
On Sunday afternoon, we have planned a special activity for children and families: building wicker windmills. It's a great opportunity to share a fun and creative moment with your family!
We look forward to seeing you there to celebrate this wonderful tradition together and discover the secrets of our mill. Feel free to bring your friends and family along to enjoy a day full of discoveries and fun.
