The Campen mill is atide millbuilt on theVincin River, between the townsof ArradonandVannes(Morbihan). It is one of three mills of this type on the Arradon coast ofthe Gulf ofMorbihan.
The Campen mill takes its name from the hamlet to which it belongs, straddling the Vincin.
The mill is an elongated building constructed along a dike. It has a vertical wheel on the west side and, according to some hypotheses, also had a horizontal wheel located under the building. Built of rubble stone, the structure is covered with a gabled slate roof.
The miller's house is located on the east side. A windmill was coupled with the tide mill, but it has now disappeared.
The mill dates back to the 15th century: in 1448, it belonged to the cathedral chapter of Vannes, before being acquired by the Bernus manor. The dike is undoubtedly original, while the current building probably dates from the 17th century and was remodeled in the 19th century.
Disused since 1920, the mill was used exclusively for grinding grain (wheat, barley, rye). Privately owned, it underwent extensive restoration at the end of the 20th century
