Vilaine Mill (old two-wheeled mills)

The Moulin de Vilaine is an old watermill on the Indre River, between Châteauroux and Saint-Maur, which had two wheels.

A nature walk is being organized on Sunday, May 18, at 10 a.m. to showcase the Natura 2000 area and discover the protected species and habitats on the Moulin Islands. Highlights include the river, floodplains, forest, beavers, birds, butterflies, and bats.

Picnics are permitted on site.

Possibility of a presentation on the history of the mill and the search for its historical secrets. The first mention of the mills dates back to 1252, when they belonged to the Knights Templar.

In the afternoon, volunteers are invited to participate in workshops, including permaculture.
