Bertoire Mill

Due to Lambesc's geographical location, exposed to the wind, windmills were built there in the Provençal tradition, particularly in the 18th century, and operated for two centuries.

During the French Revolution, Lambesc had seven water mills within the town walls for oil production and three windmills for flour production.

The Provençal windmill of Bertoire, in Lambesc, is a windmill dating from the late 18th century located on the Bertoire plateau in Lambesc, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department Bouches-du-Rhône and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

Today, the remains of this mill, a beautiful stone tower, have been at the heart of a restoration project led by the Association "Conservation du Patrimoine de Lambesc" since October 2009, with the aim of turning the tower back into a windmill producing flour.

Saturday morning: bread baking in the oven; Saturday: demonstrations on the threshing floor.

Over the two days: guided tours of the mill, stands, and entertainment.
